Teatro ZinZanni takes pleasure in presenting LGBTZ, a special evening of pride and networking for the Bay Area’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities on Thursday, March 27. A special ticket price of $99 and a raffle with numerous prizes will be offered in ZinZanni’s elegant antique speigeltent at Pier 29 on the Embarcadero. Raffle prizes will include a “Diva-in-a-Box” package, Teatro ZinZanni performance tickets, and items from the ZinZanni boutique. The special raffle benefits the Academy of Friends.
Co-presented by the San Francisco Pride Celebration Committee and the Golden Gate Business Association, the event features the current production, A La Folie, an evening of elegant abandon with a decidedly French flavor, starring the legendary French vedette Liliane Montevecchi, who has received the highest acclaim for her performances as Madame ZinZanni. “Montevecchi, a genuine French chanteuse and Tony Award-winning Broadway star, does it exactly right!” wrote Chad Jones in the Oakland Tribune. Another critic proclaimed: “The role of Mme. ZinZanni has been filled by other well-known stars … but it’s hard to imagine a more perfect Madame ZinZanni than living legend Liliane Montevecchi, the sensational Paris actress, dancer and diva.”
