This Summer Teatro ZinZanni will sizzle with SULTRY SUMMER MAGIC, a spectacular show with a rotating line-up of song sirens, each taking their turn playing the role of our famed Madame ZinZanni. Darlene Love, August 12—30
From her early career in the '60s with The Blossoms, to her first number one hit,"He's A Rebel," through her string of label hits with legendary producer Phil Spector, ("Da Doo Ron Ron," "He's Sure The Boy I'm Gonna Marry," and "Christmas Baby Please Come Home"), Darlene Love has blazed a trail of success in the music industry. She sang backup on countless songs for artists like Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley, Dionne Warwick, Cher and Aretha Franklin, and has been nominated to the Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame. She has also proven herself a talented actress, on stage and screen, starring as Danny Glover's wife in all of the Lethal Weapon films and on Broadway in Grease and the Tony-award nominated Leader of the Pack. She has been featured in People magazine, on a CNN television documentary on her life, and on numerous national television programs, including TODAY, Rosie O'Donnell, Politically Incorrect, Donny & Marie and The Oprah Winfrey Show. She most recently starred as Motormouth Maybelle in Broadway's Hairspray.
